Rajasthan Secures ₹1 Lakh Crore Investment Commitments at First Pravasi Rajasthani Divas

Jaipur, Dec 10 (IANS): The Rajasthan government marked the inaugural Pravasi Rajasthani Divas with major investment commitments, signing MoUs worth ₹1 lakh crore at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC). Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the event, urging expatriate Rajasthanis to invest in their home state, while highlighting the transformation in governance and industry support over the past two years.

Union Industry Minister Piyush Goyal encouraged the global Rajasthani diaspora—over one crore people worldwide—to act as brand ambassadors and contribute to the state’s growth. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria also addressed the gathering, stressing Rajasthan’s potential, from capable human resources to rich mineral reserves, including recent gold discoveries in Banswara.

The Chief Minister announced several new initiatives, including a dedicated NRI department, expanded industrial support, and progress on key water and power infrastructure. He emphasised that 92,000 government jobs had been provided in two years through a corruption-free recruitment system.

Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore outlined the creation of 37 new industrial areas and over 2,000 plots to boost ease of doing business. The event saw strong participation, with cultural performances, exhibitions, and a Vision 2047 showcase reflecting Rajasthan’s future development roadmap.
