PM Modi’s Support Driving Tripura’s Rapid Growth, Says CM Manik Saha

Agartala: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s consistent support has played a pivotal role in accelerating Tripura’s overall development, Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Tuesday. Speaking after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 18 projects across Sepahijala and West Tripura districts, he emphasised that the BJP government is committed to ensuring progress for every section of society, including future generations.

Addressing the event virtually from the newly inaugurated SDM office in Sonamura, Saha said that unlike the previous 35 years of Left rule—which he claimed stalled development—the current government is prioritising growth across all districts. He highlighted that projects worth Rs 50 crore were launched on Tuesday alone, covering health, education, revenue services, and minority affairs.

The Chief Minister said that infrastructure development is crucial for Tripura’s advancement, noting that the state allocated Rs 7,000 crore for infrastructure in the 2025–26 budget. He added that Tripura now ranks second in the Northeast in GSDP and per capita income, reflecting a “wave of development” under the current administration.

Saha also stressed improvements in law and order and highlighted initiatives such as the Amar Sarkar portal, CM Helpline, and Mukhyamantri Samipeshu to ensure efficient public service delivery. He reiterated that since 2018, over 20,000 government jobs have been provided transparently and that interest from investors in establishing private universities signals Tripura’s growing prospects.
