The National Defence Academy (NDA) on Saturday hosted the Convocation Ceremony for its 149th Course at the Habibullah Hall in Pune’s Khadakwasla. Ajay Kumar, Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), graced the event as the Chief Guest and was welcomed by Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, Commandant of NDA.
The ceremony began with the presentation of the Academic Report for the Autumn Term 2025 by Officiating Principal Vinay Deep, who detailed the academic accomplishments of the graduating cadets. A total of 328 cadets passed out, of whom 216 received Bachelor’s degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) across Science, Computer Science and Arts streams. Eighteen cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries were also awarded degrees, underscoring India’s strong defence training partnerships.
Additionally, 112 B.Tech cadets from the Navy and Air Force were given course completion certificates. These cadets will earn their B.Tech degrees after one more year of training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.
The convocation also honoured academic toppers. Cadet Kartik Maheshwari led the Science stream, Cadet Ananya topped Computer Science, and Cadet Anurag Gupta secured first place in Social Sciences. In the B.Tech stream, Cadet Vishwesh Bhalerao emerged as the topper.
