New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) — The government’s Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0 aims to reach two crore pensioners across more than 2,000 cities and towns through a saturation-based outreach initiative, reinforcing its commitment to digital empowerment and ease of living for senior citizens.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh will attend the SBI Mega Camp under the Nationwide DLC Campaign 4.0 at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi on Monday, where he will interact with pensioners using the face authentication facility. Demonstrations will also be held by key stakeholders including the State Bank of India, India Post Payments Bank (DoP), UIDAI, and NIC.
A key pillar of the Digital India and Ease of Living missions, the DLC initiative allows pensioners to submit life certificates through Aadhaar-based Face Authentication, eliminating the need for biometric devices. Special attention is being given to super senior and differently-abled pensioners through India Post Payments Bank’s doorstep service.
The campaign unites multiple agencies — including Banks, UIDAI, MeitY, NIC, Railways, and Pensioners’ Welfare Associations — to promote digital inclusion. Dr. Singh noted that the initiative has modernised pension disbursal by leveraging technology and removing outdated procedures, ensuring transparency and convenience for millions of pensioners.
