Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday launched the “Easy Registry” portal, a major initiative aimed at making property registration simpler, faster, and more transparent for citizens across the state.
Mann said that for years, property registration had been a lengthy and difficult process, often involving multiple visits to Sub-Registrar offices and frequent delays. Earlier, people were required to visit the Sub-Registrar’s office that had jurisdiction over the property location, adding to their inconvenience. With the new system, the Chief Minister said property registration in Punjab has now entered a modern era of efficiency and reduced corruption.
Under the “Easy Registry” initiative, any Sub-Registrar office within a district can register properties located anywhere in that district. Citizens can draft sale deeds online or through Sewa Kendras by paying a nominal fee of Rs 500. The service can also be accessed via the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwaar” helpline at 1076. Mann added that all documents can be submitted online within 48 hours, and unnecessary objections by tehsildars will no longer be permitted.
He said any raised objection will be reviewed by the Deputy Commissioner to determine its validity. Applicants will receive updates about each step of their registration through WhatsApp, and any bribery complaint can also be submitted through the same platform.
