NDA Initiates Government Formation Talks After Resounding Bihar Mandate

Patna, Nov 15 (IANS) After securing a historic victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the NDA has begun active consultations on forming the next government, with top leaders engaging in swift rounds of discussion on Cabinet formation and power sharing.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence at 1 Aney Marg has emerged as the focal point of political deliberations since Saturday morning. JD(U) Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) were among the first to meet the Chief Minister. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Union Minister Chirag Paswan followed soon after for extended talks. Senior JD(U) leaders Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Shyam Rajak, and newly elected MLAs also joined the discussions.

Sources indicated that the meetings are primarily centred on finalising the Cabinet structure, allocation of key portfolios, and preparations for the swearing-in ceremony. After meeting Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan credited the NDA’s landslide win to the Chief Minister’s leadership and the alliance’s unity. He added that Nitish Kumar’s symbolic gestures, such as publicly displaying his inked finger after voting, helped reinforce cohesion within the coalition.

Paswan described the NDA’s mandate as a strong endorsement of stability and development, emphasising that the alliance would govern with enhanced coordination. With all partners expressing confidence in Nitish Kumar, the new Cabinet—expected to balance representation across the BJP, JD(U), and smaller allies—is likely to be announced soon.
