Ahmedabad, Nov 12 (IANS) — Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) has become India’s first Integrated Transport Utility to adopt the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework, marking a major step toward nature-positive infrastructure and transparent environmental governance.
By joining the TNFD network, APSEZ aligns itself with leading global port operators committed to biodiversity conservation and marine ecosystem protection. As a TNFD adopter, the company will incorporate TNFD-aligned reporting to assess and disclose its nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities.
“The TNFD framework will help integrate nature into our strategic decision-making while strengthening our biodiversity contribution,” said Ashwani Gupta, Whole-Time Director and CEO of APSEZ. “We view nature-related challenges as a core risk management priority and support global efforts for nature-focused corporate reporting at COP30.”
From FY26, APSEZ will align its disclosures fully with TNFD recommendations, building on its existing climate risk assessment practices. The company has already restored over 4,200 hectares of mangroves and conserved another 3,000 hectares, making it India’s largest private contributor to mangrove ecosystem restoration. Operating 15 ports and terminals across India’s coastline with a fleet of 127 vessels, APSEZ continues to lead the way in sustainable maritime logistics and ESG-driven growth.
