Indore: Following a deadly explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, the Madhya Pradesh police have placed the entire state on high alert, intensifying security and surveillance measures.
Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) Ashish has directed all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to remain on high alert and strengthen security at public places, including bus terminals and railway stations. Additional orders were issued to police in the nine border districts to step up patrolling and vehicle checks at entry points connecting neighbouring states.
Reacting to the tragic incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav described the explosion and loss of civilian lives as “heartbreaking” and “deeply disturbing.” Extending condolences, he said, “I pray to Lord Mahakal for peace to the departed souls and a speedy recovery for the injured.”
Condolences poured in across political lines. Former CM Kamal Nath and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar expressed grief over the deaths and injuries, terming the incident “deeply tragic.” The blast has triggered widespread panic across Delhi-NCR and prompted authorities in Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, and Madhya Pradesh to issue heightened security alerts.
