Giriraj Singh Slams ‘Terrorism Has No Religion’ Remark After Explosives Seized in Faridabad

New Delhi, Nov 10 (IANS) — Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Sunday hit out at those claiming that “terrorism has no religion” after the recovery of a massive cache of explosives, timers, and an assault rifle from Faridabad, and the arrest of two doctors from Jammu and Kashmir.

Commending the swift joint operation by the Haryana and J&K Police, Singh credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for ensuring timely action. “Those who say terrorism has no religion should take note. A doctor, involved in what appears to be religious terrorism, was found with nearly 300 kg of explosives — enough to endanger Faridabad and even Delhi,” he said.

The Union Minister alleged that certain political parties remain silent on such incidents due to vote-bank politics, adding that this case should serve as a wake-up call. Echoing similar views, UP Minister Anil Rajbhar said political appeasement only emboldens extremists, while the government remains committed to eradicating terrorism.

According to Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta, the seized items included 20 timers, one assault rifle, 83 live rounds, a pistol, and ammunition. The operation, conducted jointly with J&K Police, led to the arrest of Dr. Mujammil of Pulwama, following intelligence gathered from Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, previously detained in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur for alleged terror links. Investigations are underway to trace the source and motive behind the explosives.
