YEREVAN: India and Armenia held the 11th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in Yerevan, engaging in wide-ranging discussions on bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday.
The Indian delegation was led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the MEA, while the Armenian side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan. During the visit, Sibi George also called on Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Both sides reviewed their growing cooperation across sectors including political dialogue, trade, education, connectivity, and culture.
An agreement on cooperation in public health and medical sciences was signed between the two nations by Indian Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha and Armenian Deputy Health Minister Lena Nanushyan. The next round of FOC will take place in India in 2026, following the previous one held in New Delhi in 2023.
The consultations come amid strengthening bilateral engagement, with recent high-level exchanges between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Both leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing India-Armenia ties based on shared values, mutual respect, and growing strategic cooperation.
